In the Final Stretches...

For those of you who already know me, you may have wondered what happened to my CD!  Well, it's alive and kicking.  I'm going to be entering the final stage of editing this month and have a friend who has offered to master the recording for me.  This should all be completed by mid-summer (at long last!)  I will initially offer the recording as a digital download, and plan on soon after offering it as a traditional recorded CD, sold from the to-be-created store on my website, www.trevorberensmusic.com

In other news, I am heading up three projects starting in the fall:

1.  Sonic Liberation Players (formerly the Los Angeles Wholesale Orchestra) -- a "new music" group composed of Los Angeles based players, performing four annual concerts in the L.A. area as part of their season, and the possibility of more than that in various locales

2.  Piano Plus Concert Series -- an opportunity for four pianists to concertize annually, either as solo artists or as pianists in small ensembles (no larger than a quartet)

3.  Third Thursdays at LMU -- a concert series at Loyola Marymount University, three concerts in the fall and two in the spring, on the third thursday of the month...concerts can include composition faculty, performance faculty, students, alumni, guest artists, etc., as long as the music is "new"!

Finally, I am in the midst of learning Mark Saya's concert length work for solo theatrical pianist, The Cabinet of Dreams, and am looking to premiere it sometime in the fall, with perhaps a trial run in the spring time.
